Retailers Embrace Zero Trust to Strengthen Network Security Posture

With 43% of respondents indicating that the pandemic has caused them to accelerate the transition of their IT infrastructure to the cloud, network security teams face increased complexity as rates of change dramatically increase. These changes have resulted in a rush to implement a zero trust architecture, with 81% of respondents saying they have implemented it or will do so within the next two years. In support of this, there is the popularity of using a SASE platform. The majority (80%) of respondents agree that achieving zero trust, reducing costs and complexity, and enabling a predictable user experience are the forces driving their network security posture in 2022.

The importance of stepping up cyber defenses is evident given how 89% of retailers said unplanned downtime of critical, customer-centric applications disrupted operations over the past nine months. Given the changing cyber threat landscape when it comes to e-commerce threats to retail stores with an online presence, most organizations (63%) said having the best security technology, even if it involves the use of multiple vendors. To respond to an increasingly dynamic business environment, retail IT teams are turning to security automation, with 98% of respondents stating its importance in ensuring overall security, compliance and efficiency. the team.
